Kimberly Woodward, MD

Hematopathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology, and Uropathology

Following training at the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC, Dr. Woodward returned to her native state, North Carolina, to complete residency training. During this time, she was actively involved in research, participated in national conferences, and served as a Chief Resident.  In April 2011, she was awarded a College of American Pathologists (CAP) travel grant, which gave her the opportunity to complete a one-month, advanced elective in Hematopathology and Molecular Pathology at Genzyme Genetics of New York.

As a hematopathology fellow, Dr. Woodward’s primary responsibilities included the review of all patient cases, the presentation of case slides and reports at multidisciplinary conferences, the communication of pertinent diagnostic information to clinicians, and the review of laboratory procedures and reports in hemoglobinopathy and coagulation testing.

Following the completion off fellowship in Gastrointestinal & Genitourinary Pathology at Sterling Pathology National Laboratories, Dr. Woodward joined our staff as a full-time Pathologist in July 2014. Her current research interests include myelodysplastic syndrome and T cell lymphoma.
